Springing into Spring Quarter

Two words, absolutely insane. This week flew by, partially because it was a four day week (so two days of each class), but also due to the fact everyone was so excited spring quarter had finally arrived. I went to a date dash with Jacqueline, Terra, and Casey on Monday night, Diane visited and stayed overnight on Tuesday, Caitlin visited during the day on Wednesday, there was an ABC party that night as well, and before we knew it our three day weekend had already arrived! Thursday night we were all exhausted so we bought two cartons of Ben&Jerrys and watched movies into the wee hours of the night. Friday, Gaffer picked me up mid-morning and we had a little adventure down to our favorite bakery, Gayles, in Capitola. We gorged ourseleves with delicious sandwiches and desserts and brought some home for later consumption. We tried to see the seals down on the pier at Santa Cruz but the weather has not been as nice as it usually is so their arrival is still much anticipated. Nana and Gaffer have taken me to Gayles as well as the pier countless times so I consider them "our spots." Gaffer and I had a lovely dinner at the Club and I stayed overnight Friday as well. The next morning Gaffer made delicious french toast from the Challah we purchased from Gayles the previous day. I was definitely spoiled during the 24 hours I spent with Gaff! I went to Torrah study with him before heading back to school and got to see Norah and Elly which was a pleasant treat. I was fascinated by the study of the book and the number of people who attended and offered varying insights. In an hour they managed to only cover 8 lines. Gaffer dropped me off right after Torrah study because my friends and I had planned a camping trip down to Santa Cruz. Long story short...we ended up camping in Nana and Gaffer's back yard. Gaffer was gracious enough to let 11 college students infiltrate his home and lets just say we didn't last out in the wildnerness. We all came back to school in time for an Easter service and Casey, Jacqueline, and I drove back to Nana and Gaffer's that afternoon for Easter dinner. I was so happy to have family near by to share Easter with. Being away from home on any holiday is hard so I was happy I could bring some friends along to share in the Easter festivities. Needless to say many memories were generated this first week of Spring Quarter and I know many more are to come.
